Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of cedarsmetrics.com, its applications and related services (together, "Cedars Metrics", "the service", "we", "us"). Cedars Metrics is operated by Cedars Metrics, 803 Kenilworth Boulevard Unit 221, Kenilworth NJ 07033.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

Cedars Metrics publishes statistics, scores, standings, analysis, news and related content about Lebanese basketball. Most of the service is available only to signed-in members.

Access to the sections of the site is granted by Cedars Metrics. We decide which sections are open to which accounts, and we may change, add or withdraw access to any section at any time.

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, temporarily or permanently, without notice. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available or free of errors.

2. Your account

Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Accurate information. You agree to give accurate information when you register and to keep it up to date.

One person, one account. Your account is personal. You may not share it, sell it or let others use it. An account may be signed in on a limited number of devices at the same time; signing in on a new device may require you to sign out of another.

Security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us at once at support@cedarsmetrics.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Suspension. We may suspend or close an account, or limit its access, if we believe it breaks these Terms, puts the service or other members at risk, or is used for fraud or abuse.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically download content or data from the service, by automated means or otherwise, except as the service itself allows (for example, printing a report for your own use);

  • republish our statistics, tables, charts or reports as a data set, or use them to build a competing service;

  • attempt to access sections, accounts, systems or data you have not been given access to, or to bypass any security or access control;

  • interfere with the service, overload it, or introduce malicious code;

  • impersonate any person, club or organisation;

  • post or send content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, defamatory, obscene or that infringes someone else's rights;

  • use the service for gambling or betting purposes.

4. Statistics and accuracy

Our statistics are compiled from official game data and our own records. We work to keep them accurate, but errors, delays and later corrections can occur. Figures such as ratings, adjusted leader rankings and projections are estimates calculated with our own methods.

The service is provided for information and entertainment. You should not rely on it for any decision with financial, legal or professional consequences.

5. Content and intellectual property

Our content. The service, its design, software, text, articles, graphics, statistics compilations, calculations and reports are owned by Cedars Metrics or its licensors and are protected by law. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them through the service for your own non-commercial purposes.

Quoting. You may quote individual statistics or short extracts in commentary, news or social media, provided you credit "Cedars Metrics" and do not reproduce substantial parts of the service.

Media use. Journalists and broadcasters who receive access to our media reports may use them to prepare coverage, with credit to Cedars Metrics. Access to media reports is personal and may not be shared.

Third-party marks. Club names, crests and other marks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify them. Cedars Metrics is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the Fédération Libanaise de Basketball, FIBA or any club, unless we say so explicitly.

Your content. If you submit content (for example a review, a message or, in Fantasy, a team or league name), you keep ownership of it and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display and store it to operate the service. You confirm you have the right to submit it. We may remove any content at our discretion.

6. Communications

We send emails that are necessary for your account, such as address verification and password reset. We send news and updates only if you have agreed to receive them, and you can stop them at any time in your profile.

If you enable notifications on your device, we may send you notifications about games, results and the service. You can turn them off in your browser or device settings at any time.

When you contact us through the contact form, we may reply using the contact details you provide, including WhatsApp.

7. Cedars Metrics Fantasy

This section applies when you take part in Cedars Metrics Fantasy ("Fantasy"), once it is available.

Free to play. Fantasy is free. It involves no entry fee, no stake and no payment of any kind. It is a game of skill based on real player performances and is not gambling. You may not use Fantasy, or offer anything connected with it, for betting.

Prizes. Fantasy has no prizes unless we announce a specific competition with its own written rules. Where such rules exist, they apply together with these Terms and prevail for that competition.

One team per person per league. Each person may manage only one team in a given league and may not use multiple accounts to gain an advantage.

Scoring. Fantasy points are calculated from official game statistics using the scoring rules published for each league. Statistics are sometimes corrected after a game; we may recalculate points, matchups and standings to reflect corrections, including after results have been shown. Our scoring records are final.

Leagues and commissioners. A member who creates a private league acts as its commissioner and may set its options within the choices the game offers. Commissioners must use their tools fairly. We may intervene in any league, reverse transactions or remove teams to protect fair play.

Fair play. Collusion, trading between teams you control or influence, deliberately weakening a team to help another, automated play and any other attempt to manipulate results are forbidden. We may reverse transactions, reset teams, remove teams or close accounts involved.

Names. Team and league names must follow section 3. We may rename or remove any that do not.

Changes. We may change Fantasy rules, scoring or features, or pause or end a Fantasy season, including for reasons outside our control such as changes to the real competition.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, its content or its availability, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cedars Metrics will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including Fantasy. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Lebanese law.

10. Ending your account

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account from your profile or by contacting us. We may close or suspend accounts as described in section 2. Sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 12 continue to apply after your account is closed.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make significant changes, we will tell members through the service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Tripoli, Lebanon, unless the law requires otherwise.
